1 - Introduction
Required features
- The complete hierarchical graphics state is provided,
although there are minor problems documented individually in
Graphics State.
- Both orthographic and perspective viewing transformations are
provided.
- Hidden-surface elimination is performed by the ray-tracing core.
"Painter's algorithm" is not provided.
- The five standard filter functions and two others are
provided. Custom filter functions are not yet supported. See
RiPixelFilter.
- Gamma correction and dithering before quantization is performed.
- It is possible to produce picture files containing any combination
of RGB, A, and Z. The resolutions of these files may be
specified by the user.
- All of the geometric primitives described in the specification are
provided.
- All of the fourteen standard shaders are provided except "bumpy".

the implementations are documented in
Standard Shaders.
