Hey SL supportteam.

I have a problem with SL.  After each render, when I want to change something by activating the SL Material Editor, the editorbox opens blank.  There is nothing in the editorbox.
Each time I have to close SU and restart the program and open the file.  Each time.
I lose a lot of time doing this several times during the making of the renderimages.
What could be the problem here.

Shaderlight v2.2

Kind Regards,

Hello Jürgen,

Do your symptoms sound similar to what’s described at the start of this thread: https://artvps.com/index.php/discuss/viewthread/2874/? We haven’t been able to reproduce the problem here, so any extra cases we can find will be helpful. Can you tell us which operating system you are using, and if it’s Windows, which version of Internet Explorer you have installed. (The Shaderlight dialogs within SketchUp are drawn using Internet Explorer.)

Would you mind trying the free trial of the latest Shaderlight release? Although we haven’t made any changes to explicitly address this issue, it’s worth trying in case some other change has had an effect on it.

Thank you,
Shaderlight support

Hi
This “blank window thing” also happens on all the computers which we are running in the company where I work. These computers are extremely powerful machines with endless ram, all operated with 8 core Xeon processors and additionally fired with 2 fast Nvidia Quadros.

I will bring more detailed information as soon as I am in the company again, because in another post here is asked for a recommendation for a fast rendering machine setup - and yes, these computers are really fast.

Now also my mobile workstation (notebook) works with a 4 core Xeon and I can say with certainty that I have never had a more stable system (which is however not a Shaderlight theme). The number of SketchUp bugsplats for example has decreased significantly. This 4 core (mobile) Xeon does not increase the render speed in comparison to a comparable i7 equipment but editing a more than 1,5 GB PDS file (no joke!) is not a problem, parrallel to a running render process and 10 opened other things and my chronic messed up desktop ;-) ...

Best, Egie
