Enabling ShaderLight in Sketchup 2017

Hi,

I have run and installed the shaderlight 500msi.exe file on my laptop and purchased the full license.  However, when I go to the extension manager in Sketchup 2017 Shader Light does not appear as an option. I then click the “install extension” button where I am then required to upload the .rbz file.  The problem is I cannot find a .rbz file anywhere in my Shaderlight folders.  Please let me know how I can get this operational.

Regards,

Jesse

Hi Jesse,

The Shaderlight installer should install all the necessary components – there is no RBZ file for Shaderlight. Note that the installer should have an .msi extension, not an .exe one – is that the case for you?

Shaderlight is not a ‘signed’ extension, so your loading policy will need to be set to ‘Unrestricted’, which can be found in the Extension Manager Settings dialog by clicking the cog icon in the Extension Manager.

If it still isn’t working, could you give us a directory listing for the following location: C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2017\SketchUp\Plugins, so we can check whether or not the installer managed to place the files correctly.
