My room won’t render

I am trying out Shaderlight on the 14-day trial, and have a room that I am trying to render. When I add a light, all I get for the render is a white box, a white box with some black specs, or a white box with a black strip across the top. I plan to buy the program as I have to have these rendered by Tues. but am reluctant if there’s an issue that I can’t figure out.

I am on a Mac:
16 GB of Ram
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
OS Lion 10.7.4

Help!

Hello,

Hopefully we can get you up and running with Shaderlight. If you would like to post or email an example of the type of effect you are after we would be happy to help point you in the right direction. You can send any files to support@artvps.com

So I’ve spent all day on this room (it’s my first one, so that’s understandable), but I CANNOT get the noise out. I have this room sealed up tight with portals and I finally had to resort to taking all of the area lights out, adding a couple of dim pin lights, and opening up the darkness in Photoshop because I’m running out of time and need to get this rendered. The auto button is off and I increased the exposure to 9.5 to get something to work with . The other lights seem to be rendering ok…it’s only the area lights.

The rendering with the noise in the ceiling beams is with the area lights on….the other is with the pin lights and no area lights.

Also, if you look at my renderings, there is a horizontal line running up about 2/3 of the way from the floor where the image gets darker….I can’t figure out what’s doing that either.

ANY suggestions would be welcome!

Clem
