This layer is like a small volume of semi-transparent material on top of the base layer, like a matte varnish on wood, or an anti-reflection coating on glass. It has a thickness (which is NOT visible as a physical thickness). As light travels through the lacquer layer the surface color is tinted by the lacquer color. The effect of this is more pronounced at glancing angles as the light is traveling through more of the lacquer layer, and therefore picks up more color, before it gets to the eye.
| • | Color – The color of the lacquer layer. A white color means that the lacquer will not tint the light as it passes through and so it will have no effect. |
| • | Thickness – The thickness of the lacquer layer (in world space units). The thicker the lacquer layer, the more the lacquer color tints light as it passes through. |
