Non-interactive rendering is controlled from the standard 3ds Max Render Setup dialog box.

 

Click the [...] button next to Production in the Assign Renderer rollout and choose Shaderlight Renderer from the list.

Note: If the production renderer is set to Shaderlight, make sure that the Material Editor renderer is set to Default Scanline Renderer in the Assign Renderer rollout by unlocking the button to the right of the Material Editor. Shaderlight will not render the sample balls in the Material Editor in order to maximize resources for its unique interactive rendering features.

 

Renderer Settings

The Shaderlight Renderer settings only apply to non-interactive rendering and are independent of the settings in the Shaderlight Exporter utility tab.
