Manual Activation

Manual Activation is used when Automatic Activation fails because:

•	There is no connection to the internet available on the computer running Shaderlight.

•	There is an internet connection on the computer, but a firewall or proxy server blocks Shaderlight from contacting the automatic licensing server.

In this situation, you can activate your Shaderlight license by visiting www.activateshaderlight.com in a web browser, which may be on a different computer to the one running Shaderlight.

•	From the SketchUp Plugins menu, select Plugins->Shaderlight for SketchUp->Activate Shaderlight.

•	From the Activation dialog box select Manual Activation Via Website and click Next.

•	Make a note of the Machine ID. If you have web access on the computer running Shaderlight, it may be convenient to copy the Machine ID to your clipboard.

Copy the Machine ID number

•	Visit www.activateshaderlight.com using a web browser.

•	In the activation web page, enter your 16 digit Activation Code (received via email when you purchased Shaderlight or requested a trial).

•	Enter the Machine ID that you noted earlier.

•	Click Submit to generate the license text.

•	The license text should look something like this:

•	Copy the license text to the clipboard of the computer running Shaderlight. If this is a different machine, copying a text file containing the license using a memory stick or a file transfer over your internal network may be convenient.

•	Return to the Manual Activation window in SketchUp.

•	Click Next on the box displaying the Machine ID.

•	Paste the license text from the clipboard into the box marked "Paste license text here".

•	If the license is valid you will see the following box. If the license fails you will be asked to re-enter it.

•	Click Close to complete activation.

If Activation Fails:

•	Check you have entered the license text correctly.

•	Check that you entered the Machine ID correctly on the Activation web page.
