ART VPS Ltd Appoints Gary Rinck To Board of Directors
Pearson Group General Counsel To Advise 3D Visualization Leader
The Board of ART VPS Ltd are pleased to announce that Gary Rinck has agreed to join them as a non-executive director.

Gary Rinck is the Group General Counsel at Pearson, the FTSE 100 media and publishing conglomerate where he leads a group of forty-five in-house lawyers, based in the US and UK. In addition to managing this function, Gary plays a lead role in Pearson’s Corporate Finance team, doing mergers and acquisitions. He supervises all significant litigation within the Group, as well as all company secretarial or corporate governance matters, including regulatory filings.

Before joining Pearson, Gary was a lawyer at the US-based law firm Morrison & Foerster. He joined “MoFo” in 1980 after studying history and economics at Yale and law at Harvard and Oxford. Gary became a partner at MoFo in San Francisco in 1984 and was based in Tokyo from 1986 to 1991. From 1991 until 2000, Gary was at MoFo’s London office, from 1995 as its Managing Partner.

During his time running the London office of MoFo, Gary advised many companies in his specialist area of intellectual property and licensing, including Xaar plc in Cambridge where he worked closely on many deals with Graham Wylie, the Chairman of ART VPS.

Graham Wylie said of the appointment, ‘ART VPS is very fortunate to have the experience and skill of Gary available and it will be good to work with him again’

Gary Rinck commented that ‘I have always been interested in helping new technology companies grow internationally. When Graham approached me with details of ART VPS, I thought it was a perfect fit. ART VPS has leading-edge 3D technology and the potential to grow significantly over the next few years.'

ART VPS Ltd, which specialises in the development of rendering products for the computer generated 3D imaging and graphics market, was formed in July 2002 to acquire the business of Advanced Rendering Technology Ltd from an Administrator. ART VPS is based on the Cambridge Science Park and is lead by Daniel Hall, the CEO.

About Advanced Rendering Technology
ART VPS Ltd. develops and markets leading edge Virtual Photography solutions for users in the AEC, Industrial Design, and computer graphics markets. Virtual Photography allows computers to create images of uncompromising realism from digital data. Generating images in this way can significantly reduce the time-to-market for new products, architectural designs and entertainment projects. The company developed the world’s first dedicated ray tracing graphics processors — the only 3D graphics chips that can create images of true realism. RenderDrive, ART VPS’s 3D rendering appliance, and PURE, ART VPS’s 3D rendering workstation add-in board, are application independent and can be used with many 3D applications including 3ds max, VIZ, and Maya.

ART VPS customers include: Paul Steelman Design, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Slough Estates, Taylor Woodrow, and Walt Disney Imagineering for architectural visualization; Bombardier Aerospace, Getty Images, Nikon Corporation, Procter & Gamble, and Shell for design visualization.
