ART VPS announced that DLA Graphics is the latest visualization specialist to see massively reduced rendering times by employing their unique 3D visualization solutions. DLA Graphics pride themselves in the quality of the work that they produce for their clients. Specialists in their field, DLA Graphics have carved out a superior reputation as a new media and graphics communication company. With a particular specialisation in projects for the architectural and building development industry, DLA Graphics employ sophisticated 3D tools to produce high quality visuals used by clients to market their building developments whilst still under construction.
Faced with longer and longer 3D rendering times for high quality visualization, DLA Graphics went in search of a solution that would improve their rendering productivity. After extensive testing, DLA Graphics chose the PURE 3D visualization solution from ART VPS Ltd. This investment is paying off very rapidly for DLA Graphics – who found that they saved days of rendering time on their first project completed with PURE.
The first project to be completed by DLA Graphics with PURE is for a project by sister company DLA Architecture called Chapel Quarter, a new build scheme in the centre of Nottingham being developed by Landmark Development Projects Ltd and Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Ltd. A mixed-use development, comprising commercial and leisure businesses with a hotel, Chapel Quarter is currently undergoing construction. DLA Graphics brief was to create a set of images that the client could show prospective tenants, getting them interested in and signed up to space occupancy, prior to site completion.
According to Steve Casey, 3D Co-ordinator for the project, use of PURE saved a massive amount of time. “This was the first project using PURE, and we were getting to know the rendering interface, materials, lights, etc.”, said Casey. “The RenderPipe software from ART VPS is really well integrated into the VIZ user interface which made for an easy learning process and also made the use of PURE feel very natural. Plus, the RenderCoat materials supplied with PURE are very lifelike.”
It wasn’t only the seamless integration with Autodesk’s VIZ that appealed to DLA Graphics. The high performance ray tracing that PURE delivers was a major attraction too. “There is no doubt that PURE saved us a huge amount of time,” added Casey. “The final image was A3 at 300dpi (4960x3507 pixels) and took only 2 hours 50 minutes to generate the fully ray traced image. On jobs we worked before PURE, the renders were averaging 3-4 days to get a similar quality finish at the same image resolution – but that was with probably only half the amount of glazing! PURE’s performance is jaw-dropping”.
With PURE now a regular part of the DLA Graphics toolset, the team is focused on continuing to grow their business and on delivering the best quality visualization images to their many and varied clients.
