3ds Max Compatibility

For a detailed list of the materials and textures that are not supported in Shaderlight v0.1, please see 3ds Max Support sections above. Some highlights are:

 

Self illumination on 3ds Max materials is not supported.
Hiding geometry has no effect on the Shaderlight render window. Hidden geometry will still render in Shaderlight.
Shaderlight doesn’t support photometric disc/sphere/cylinder area light shapes in 3ds Max 2009 (rectangle is supported).
Photometric sun and sky systems are not supported.
X-ref geometry and materials are not supported.
Using an HDR image as a texture map on a skylight causes sampling problems which make it largely unusable at present.
Displacement mapping can cause black artifacts in the render.
Adding a material to a Multi/Sub-Object material will cause a complete retrace, even if its material ID is untaken.
