For a detailed list of the materials and textures that are not supported in Shaderlight v0.1, please see 3ds Max Support sections above. Some highlights are:
| • | Self illumination on 3ds Max materials is not supported. |
| • | Hiding geometry has no effect on the Shaderlight render window. Hidden geometry will still render in Shaderlight. |
| • | Shaderlight doesn’t support photometric disc/sphere/cylinder area light shapes in 3ds Max 2009 (rectangle is supported). |
| • | Photometric sun and sky systems are not supported. |
| • | X-ref geometry and materials are not supported. |
| • | Using an HDR image as a texture map on a skylight causes sampling problems which make it largely unusable at present. |
| • | Displacement mapping can cause black artifacts in the render. |
| • | Adding a material to a Multi/Sub-Object material will cause a complete retrace, even if its material ID is untaken. |
